1. Choose a fund and a reporting period
Open the Portfolio Dashboard and select a fund house (AMC), then a scheme. Select an available reporting year and month. A fund house manages multiple schemes, each with its own portfolio and mandate.
Read the reporting date in the loaded holdings. A source check today may find a disclosure for an earlier month. Raen uses published portfolio snapshots; the holdings are not a live view of a manager’s trading account.
2. Read each column in its own units
Quantity is the disclosed number of units of a security. Market value is its value at the reporting date. Portfolio weight is the disclosed percentage of net assets represented by that position. These measures answer different questions.
For example, ₹250 lakh equals ₹2.5 crore. A weight of 2% means two percent of the scheme’s reported net assets; it does not mean a 2% return. The same rupee position can have different weights in schemes of different sizes.
3. Explore concentration and sector exposure
Use the holdings table and sector charts to see where exposure is concentrated. Follow a stock or sector link when available to investigate it further. The header search also finds stocks, AMCs and schemes.
A displayed portfolio is the supported holdings scope. Excluded instruments, missing classifications or incomplete disclosure coverage can mean displayed weights do not total 100%. Do not rescale them into a supposedly complete portfolio.
4. Check coverage before comparing
Review Data Coverage for the AMC’s available history and the disclosures page for exclusions. A missing scheme or month is a data-availability question before it is an investment signal.
Once you have understood one snapshot, open Monthly Changes to compare two available periods. Use the same scheme and scope to make the comparison meaningful.
