1. Start with two available snapshots
Choose earlier and later reporting periods in Monthly Changes. Check the dates returned with the result and the selected fund scope. Weekly Changes uses available weekly disclosures and currently supports Shriram Mutual Fund; it is not market-wide weekly coverage.
The comparison context identifies included AMCs and reports missing comparison data where supplied by the API. An AMC count does not prove that every scheme has reported. Review exclusions before interpreting the ranked results.
2. Separate a position change from a price change
A larger market value does not by itself show a purchase. For example, 100 shares valued at ₹100 each total ₹10,000. If the price rises to ₹110 and the quantity stays at 100, the value becomes ₹11,000 without additional shares.
Read quantities, values and portfolio weights together. Corporate actions and changes in the scheme’s assets can also affect comparisons. Snapshot differences cannot reveal every trade made between the two disclosure dates.
3. Interpret entries and exits carefully
A fresh position appears in the later snapshot and is absent from the comparable earlier snapshot. A complete exit is present earlier and absent later. These descriptions apply to the selected scope and supported data.
If the earlier disclosure is missing, absence does not establish a new purchase. If the later disclosure is missing, it does not establish an exit. Choose another period or check the source coverage when a comparison is unavailable.
4. Investigate a change in context
Use Fresh Positions for new holdings and exits, or Top Buying and Top Selling to explore ranked changes across funds. The two Top screens are available without signing in; some other tools provide a sample before account access.
Open the relevant stock or fund portfolio to inspect its exposure. Keep the period and coverage alongside any result you share. Fund activity is historical evidence for further research, not a forecast or instruction to trade.
